Administering the Value History Service

The following topics describe several administrative aspects of the Value History Service (VHS) and discuss such issues as data storage technology, planning disk space allocation, configuring history retention, back up, proper VHS shutdown and restart, managing performance through the in-memory database page cache, system and service logging, service configuration file keywords, and service security settings.

Both a 32-bit VHS and a 64-bit VHS are available. See Services Overview for more information.

Context Menu Options

The following table lists and describes the context menu options that display when you right-click in the VHS service pane.

Option Description

Delete

Highlight an existing record and click this option to permanently delete a point and all its values.

View by Long Point ID

View Values

View the History Values for a point.
